I remember Dr. Vaught bringing this up during the first presentation last week, but we didn't really go into it very much. The whole idea of birthright seems pretty interesting to me. Why do you think Jacob wanted Esau's birthright? Since I think he would have still been able to pretend to be Esau and trick Issac into giving him the blessing, even if he didn't have the birthright. Could it be that Jacob wouldn't have been able to receive God's words/been able to talk to God if he didn't have it? So before Jacob stole Esau's birthright, could God have been talking to Esau? If so, why do you think he didn't warn Esau that Jacob was going to steal his birthright, if God is omnipotent? (Then again, maybe God secretly liked Jacob more, so he was waiting for it to happen?)
Then there's also the whole situation when the firstborn (male) of those in Egypt were to be killed. Why would they choose the firstborn specifically, instead of any male son?
